There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle, or the mirror that reflects it.
We are trying to reclaim our ways of being—ways that were never based on money.
It was 1892. The opportunities for higher education for women were expanding, and women were entering the work force. Behind desks and typewriters, women were taking their places. In parlors across the country, women gathered and founded clubs—to promote sociability and fellowship among women, and to promote the general welfare through improvement in themselves and their communities.
And they did. In Berkshire County, four women’s clubs were formed. Of the four, two survive. The Tuesday Club of Stockbridge is one of the oldest women’s clubs in continuous operation in the county—still working to blend progress and tradition, to enrich ourselves and our community.
Our greatest strength is being there for one another. Join us.
We meet at the First Congregational Church of Stockbridge on the third Tuesday of every month—except January, July, and August. Each gathering brings a speaker on literature, art, music, history, science, or civic affairs, followed by tea with lots of goodies.
Our purpose is simple and unchanged: to foster curiosity, to promote warm relationships among our members, and to support programs for the welfare of our community.

The Tuesday Club gives the proceeds of its dues and donations back to the community. Each September we choose a charity for the coming year. Over the years, our giving has reached—among many others—
